Local planning
The local planning authority for Hereford is Herefordshire Council. Swapping like for like is usually fine, but a changed appearance, an external shutter or an illuminated sign usually does. We flag it at survey so it never delays the fit.
Costs
Electric roller shutters start at around £1,450 plus VAT. The real figure comes from the survey measurements. Quotations stay valid for 90 days.
From order to fitted
Allow 2-3 weeks after survey from drawings to delivery. The install itself rarely takes more than two days for a standard opening. If you cannot close, we can work outside trading hours.
What gets fitted
The motor sits inside the barrel and the shutter is run from a key switch, a remote or both. You can specify manual override for power cuts; safety edge and obstruction detection options.

FAQs
What guarantee do I get?
Every installation comes with a written guarantee, and manufacturer warranties on hardware, motors and finishes are passed to you. The terms are set out on your quotation.
Can you match the units either side?
On a parade where the landlord wants a consistent frontage, we work to the same section profile and colour reference so the unit reads as part of the row.
What do you need from me to quote?
The address, roughly what you want, and a photo of the current frontage. Opening sizes help but are not essential, because we measure at survey anyway.
